Abstract

Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds, and may blessings and peace be upon the Seal of the Prophets and Messengers, our Master Muhammad, and upon his family and companions and those who follow them in righteousness until the Day of Judgment. And after: Human nature rejects stability and constancy and always seeks innovation and change. Perhaps the concept of modernity does not deviate from this framework. If a person’s dream in the past was to create an entity through imitation and imitation, then modernity has led to a person who does not trust anything other than his abilities and does not owe loyalty. For one, this was a natural result of the dominance of enlightenment ideas after science topped all fields, leaving behind ignorance, as a symbol of backwardness and the tragedy of humanity. He linked ignorance to all the unjust laws that deprived man of his most basic rights. Perhaps what gave modernity that ideal concept was its association with science, freedom, and reason, which are the principles that led the world to safety. After that, modernist ideas were invested in all fields, and among them was literature, as it was quickly burned. The vertical poem system took criticism into a more dynamic world. Modernism in poetry and criticism was a qualitative shift that brought down the curtain on a past historical period and announced the birth of another era. This was enough for modernity to take the lead in every subject, in addition to the fact that it was compatible with the new thinking that It soon took control of modern man. The research was based on six axes. The first axis dealt with the study of the concept of modernity in language and terminology. The second axis dealt with the study of the roots of modernity. The third axis dealt with the study of modernity according to Baudelaire. The fourth axis was devoted to the study of modernity according to Rimbaud. The fifth axis included the study of modernity according to (Baudelaire). Mallarmé), while the sixth section was devoted to studying modernity according to Eliot.
