Al-Noor Journal of Legal Studies

Researchers must adhere to the publication guidelines and writing style approved by the journal. The research should meet the standards of rigorous academic research, including clear research objectives, accurate and sequential presentation of results, and discussion that meets the research objectives while justifying the research methods objectively. The research should be supported by details from recent scientific references. The research must not contain results from other studies, as this is considered unacceptable behavior.

The journal will not publish research that does not comply with all these points:

  • The research has not been submitted or published in any other journal.
  • Any work or text by other authors, contributors, or sources (including websites) must be properly cited and documented.
  • Ensure the research language is correct before submission.
  • The submitted work must be the original creation of its authors and not copied or plagiarized, either wholly or partially, from other works without proper acknowledgment.
  • If any errors or inaccuracies are discovered in the submitted research, the researcher must immediately notify the editor-in-chief to cooperate in retracting or correcting the research.

Submission Guidelines

When submitting research to Al-Noor Journal of Legal Studies, please follow these steps:

First: Submit the research using the online submission procedures.

Submitting more than one research paper at the same time is a violation of publication ethics.

Second: Ensure the following:

  • Research title in both English and Arabic.
  • Researcher’s name in both English and Arabic, their academic degree, qualifications, scientific rank, and place of work.
  • Official email and phone number for each researcher.
  • Two abstracts, one in Arabic and one in English, with font size (12). The abstract should be written in a scientific and methodical manner, without references, figures, or tables, and should be between 300 and 400 words summarizing the entire research.
  • Keywords for the research in both Arabic and English, between 5 and 8, arranged alphabetically.

Third: The researcher must adhere to objectivity and scientific methodology in research, analysis, and referencing. The research should be linguistically sound, and references should be listed sequentially as they appear in the research with separate footnote numbering for each page, considering the following:

  • References should be cited in footnotes at the bottom of the page, not in the main text.
  • For books: First and last name of the author, book title, volume (if applicable), edition, city of publication, year, page number.
  • For articles from Arabic journals: First and last name of the researcher, article title, volume, issue, publishing entity (journal name), city, year, page number.
  • For foreign references: First and last name of the author, title, volume (if applicable), edition, city, publisher, year, page number. On subsequent references, use the last name, title, and page number.
  • For online sources: Use the Chicago style for citations.

Fourth: Submit an electronic file with the abstracts in both Arabic and English, accurately translated, along with a separate file for references in both languages.

Fifth: The research should not exceed 25 pages. Any additional pages will incur a publication fee of 5000 IQD per page.

Sixth: An initial publication fee of 50,000 IQD is charged upon submission, with an additional 50,000 IQD upon final acceptance for publication for research from within Iraq.

Seventh: Formatting and font requirements:

  • Arabic: Simplified Arabic, font size 14.
  • English: Times New Roman, font size 16 for the main text and 12 for abstracts. All other pages should be font size 14.
  • Use Microsoft Word for text processing.
  • Do not exceed 30 lines per page with a line spacing of 1 cm.
  • Include conclusions and recommendations as part of the research methodology, and briefly summarize them in the abstract.

Eighth: Researchers will be notified of the publication decision within two months of submission. Researchers must comply with expert revisions within ten days.

Ninth: For research submitted from outside Iraq, a fee of 50 USD is charged for initial publication and an additional 50 USD for final acceptance.

Tenth: Research derived from theses or dissertations must be submitted within two years of the original discussion date and with written consent from the supervisor.

Eleventh: Extracted research from theses and dissertations (diploma, master’s, and doctoral) must undergo linguistic and scientific evaluation before discussion.

Twelfth: The editorial board will conduct initial examination and submission of the research.

Thirteenth: The research will be sent to at least three reviewers approved by the journal through the journal’s electronic system.

Fourteenth: The accepted research becomes the property of the journal and cannot be republished without the editorial board’s approval.

Fifteenth: The journal retains the publication fees for research that is not accepted.

Sixteenth: Submitted research is subject to plagiarism detection before scientific evaluation, except for research derived from university theses and dissertations.

The journal does not commit to publishing research that violates any of these conditions.
