Publishing policy in the Noor Journal of Legal Studies

The journal is committed to the ethics of scientific publishing, and according to the publication ethics report of the journal

The editorial board considers that the researcher who submitted his research for publication in the journal has already read the publishing terms and conditions and agreed to them.

The decision to accept publication is based on the scientific value of the research and to what extent it meets the approved publication conditions and the declared policy of the journal and its specialization.

It is based on the principles of scientific integrity and the authenticity of the research proposed for publication. It deals with the names of reviewers and their reports with complete confidentiality.

The views published in the journal reflect the views of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the editorial board.

The journal is not committed to publish what is submitted to it. The time and place of publication are subject to technical considerations adopted in the editorial plan of the journal.

The researcher is provided with acceptance of publication within approximately 8-10 weeks. As for publication, it takes 9-12 months and the publication date is fixed within the acceptance paper.

The journal retains paper copies and an electronic archive of the published issues in addition to publishing research papers.

The journal also publishes issues electronically through the journal's website, the official website of Iraqi academic journals, and allows downloading. Thus, the intellectual property of research papers is documented and published internationally.

The researcher receives a copy of his research. If he wishes to purchase a copy of the journal, the cost is 25,000 Iraqi dinars from within Iraq and $100 from outside.

 Editing and Publishing Stages:

The researcher undertakes that his research has not been previously published, nor has it been submitted for publication to other parties until the evaluation procedures are completed and the publication is accepted in the journal.

Humanities studies: If the work involves the use of human subjects, the author must ensure that the research contains a statement that all procedures have been carried out in accordance with relevant laws and institutional guidelines and that the appropriate institutional committee(s) has approved them. Authors must include a statement in the text of the research that informed consent was obtained to conduct experiments on humans. Privacy rights of individuals should always be respected. Approvals, permits, and appropriate releases must be obtained when the author wishes to include case details or other personal information or images of patients and any other individuals in the paper. Authors must retain written approvals and must submit copies of the approvals or evidence obtained to the Journal of Literature with the submission request.

Co-authorship: Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception of the reported study, or its design, or its execution, or its interpretation. All those who have made substantial contributions should be listed as co-authors. All co-authors must have read and agreed to the final version of the paper and agreed to submit it for publication. Authors should carefully consider the list and order of authors before submitting the research and provide a final list of authors at the time of original submission. Authors share collective responsibility for the work. Each individual author is responsible for ensuring that questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are investigated and resolved appropriately.

Submitted research papers are subject to initial review by the editorial board to determine their suitability for the journal's specialization and policy and the integrity of the scientific research procedures, and then to indicate their eligibility for scientific evaluation. The editorial board may reject the research paper altogether or request the researcher to modify it in accordance with the journal's policy before sending it to the editors.

After the scientific evaluation, the research paper is returned to the researcher for any required modifications within a maximum period of two weeks.

The researcher is fully responsible for any typographical and linguistic errors after submitting the complete research paper.

Post-publication corrections: When the author discovers a major error or inaccuracy in his published work, it is the author's duty to notify the journal editor or publisher immediately and cooperate with the editor to withdraw or correct the paper if the editor deems it necessary. If the editor or publisher learns from a third party that the published work contains an error, it is the author's duty to cooperate with the editor, including providing evidence to the editor upon request.

Withdrawal: If the author wishes to withdraw his research from publication in the journal, he must submit a request to the editor stating the reasons that led him to withdraw from publication in the journal, and his request will be considered after the approval of the editor-in-chief.

 Conflict of interest:

For the researcher: All authors must disclose in their research any financial and personal relationships with other individuals or organizations that could be considered inappropriate (bias) to their work, and all sources of financial support for conducting the research and/or preparing it, as well as the role of the sponsor (sponsors), if any, in designing the study; in data collection, analysis, and interpretation; in writing the report; and in deciding to submit the article for publication. If the source(s) of funding do not involve such participation, this must be stated.

For the reviewer: Arbitration must be done objectively. Reviewers should be aware of any personal bias they may have and take this into account when reviewing the paper. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Reviewers should clearly express their opinions with supporting arguments. Reviewers must consult the editor before agreeing to arbitrate the research if they have a potential conflict of interest resulting from competitive or cooperative relationships or communications with any of the authors or companies or institutions associated with the research. If the reviewer suggests that the author quotes the work of the arbitrator (or his colleagues), this should be for genuine scientific reasons and not to increase the number of citations of the arbitrator himself or to promote the view of his work (or theirs).

For the editor: The editor should not be involved in decisions related to papers written by himself or by family members or colleagues or that relate to products or services in which the editor is interested. In addition, any such submission should be subject to all regular procedures of the journal, and the handling of peer review should be independent of the author/editor concerned and their research groups, and there should be a clear statement to this effect on any paper published.

Electronic Impersonation: All research papers are subject to the Turnitin program to detect impersonation before being sent for scientific evaluation. The researcher undertakes in writing to bear the legal and ethical responsibility in the event of literary theft or taking from the efforts of other researchers without reference to them. The journal uses appropriate programs to combat impersonation, such as Turnitin, to check for impersonation.

Dealing with Research Misconduct: The journal takes reasonable and serious steps to identify and prevent the publication of papers in which research misconduct has occurred, including impersonation, citation manipulation, and forgery/fabrication of data.
