Al-Noor Journal for Oil and Gas Studies and Research:

  1. Research Scope: The journal publishes theoretical and applied scientific research in the fields of petroleum and gas engineering, environmental studies related to petroleum, and related sciences such as geology, chemistry, and geotechnical engineering as they pertain to oil and gas.

  2. Frequency: The journal is published quarterly, with the number of issues per year determined by the volume of research submitted.

  3. Originality: Submitted research must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration for publication in any other journal.

  4. Research Title: The title should accurately reflect the content of the research.

  5. Visuals: Figures, illustrations, photographs, and maps must be clear and easy to read.

  6. Formatting:

    • Manuscripts should be prepared using Microsoft Word, with the font Times New Roman (size 12 for the main text, 16 bold for the title, and 12 italic for author names).
    • The main headings within the text should be in size 14.
    • Research should be printed on A4 paper, leaving a margin of 2.5 cm on all sides, and with single line spacing. The text should not exceed 30 lines per page.

  7. Pagination: Pages, including those with figures, appendices, tables, and footnotes, should be numbered consecutively from the first to the last.

  8. Language: Research papers are accepted in English only.

  9. Author Responsibility: Authors are fully responsible for the accuracy and content of their research, including all data and factual information provided.

  10. Plagiarism and Citation: Proper citation is mandatory, and research must adhere to an acceptable plagiarism limit (up to 20%). The originality of the research and the absence of plagiarism are crucial.

  11. Research Validation: All information in the research must be properly documented, with references from credible and scientific sources.

  12. Peer Review: Research will undergo an evaluation process by expert reviewers and editors to ensure it meets the journal's quality standards.

  13. Rights: Once the research is accepted for publication, all rights of ownership and publication are transferred to the journal.

  14. Error Reporting: If an error or inaccuracy is discovered, the author is responsible for notifying the editor immediately to correct or withdraw the research.

  15. Response Time: Authors will be notified about the acceptance or rejection of their submission within two months.

  16. Revisions: Authors are required to complete any revisions suggested by reviewers within 15 days of receiving feedback.

  17. Rejection: The journal reserves the right to reject any research that does not comply with these guidelines.

Required Sections in the Submitted Research:

  • Title (in English)
  • Author(s) Name(s), along with their institutional affiliation and email addresses.
  • Abstract (in English, not exceeding 350 words).
  • Keywords (up to 7).
  • Introduction: Includes the study location, research objectives, and key terminology.
  • Methodology
  • Results, Discussion, and Conclusions
  • Acknowledgements (if any)
  • References

Citation Format (APA Style):

  1. For Journal Articles: Author(s), year of publication, title of the article, journal name, volume, issue, and page numbers. Example:

  2. For Books: Author(s), year of publication, title of the book, publisher. Example:

  3. For Theses: Author, year, title of the thesis/dissertation, institution. Example:

Publication Fees:

  • The fee for publishing a research paper of up to 15 pages is 100,000 IQD, with an additional fee of 3,000 IQD for each extra page.

The journal maintains the right to make minor adjustments for clarity and formatting and reserves the right to reject submissions if they do not comply with the above criteria.
